At Home in the
Hill Country at Cordillera Ranch

When Sherry and Damon Christofilis moved to a new Cordillera Ranch residence but a few doors from their previous home, it was the Fourth of July weekend last summer and a crunch time for Sherry; she had volunteered to host an upcoming ranch gathering, and 150 women were set to arrive on her doorstep in just a few weeks.
In stepped Cindy Holland, who owns Hill Country Interiors with her husband, Bill. Cindy had been the interior designer for homes previously owned by the Christofilises and was on hand once more to apply her extensive knowledge and creativity to the task of working with the family on their new home. Family friend Kellee Hagar also provided invaluable decorating assistance, for she specializes in accessorizing with the homeowners’ own accent pieces.
Sherry is experienced in design work, and though she’s not a licensed interior decorator or designer, she aspires to that goal. Husband, Damon, is president of Burdick & Christofilis, the Hill Country Division of Burdick Custom Homes, and Sherry is involved with sales and marketing for the company. In that role, she has worked with interior designers readying Burdick Homes for several Parade of Homes events.
The Christofilis’ new Cordillera residence is the first home the couple devised together, from a basic 6,000-square-foot Burdick blueprint, that they customized with their own special style in a way that met their needs and those of daughter, Haley, age 13.
The house also serves as a marketing tool for Damon’s branch of home building — a place where clients may come to see various appointments from floorings to door styles, architectural moldings, ceilings, wall finishes and hardware — all in place in a functioning, fully furnished, warm and happily lived-in dwelling.
